As I lie bleeding from this ache
I look into your eyes,
For now awake
I sum up the memories, pain, what if's and why's
While I drown in the sadness that I wanted to fake
This river bed conceals our dreams and lies
This place concieved in our minds
Fearing your cries, I dry your eyes
My heart beat slows, my soul yet to find
This peace I crave, as I say my goodbye's
Peace nearly impossible in the flesh,
Hope still lingers for the rest
